I am very excited to share with you all of the opportunities that the Jaycees have to offer. We work hard to strive for excellence in all that we do, and yes, we have a lot of fun doing it. Please join us for our next event, social, or meeting and learn what you can personally gain by becoming a Grand Rapids Jaycee."
Matthew A. Sernau
2010 President
Grand Rapids Jaycees
The Grand Rapids Jaycees are a group of professionally minded young people between the ages of 21 and 40. Through active participation, Jaycees meet new people, network for business, help the community and build their personal and professional skills.
The Grand Rapids Jaycees are a part of a network that includes a state organization (Michigan Jaycees), a national organization (U.S. Jaycees) and an international organization (JCI or Junior Chamber International).
The chapter currently includes nearly 100 professionals in its membership. In its 80-year history, members of the Grand Rapids Jaycees have managed 19 PGA Champions Tour events, more than 40 Grand Rapids Jaycees Santa Parades, more than 25 Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI) Basketball Tournaments, and numerous other influential events and programs.
Each year, Grand Rapids Jaycees members donate thousands of hours of service to the Grand Rapids community, advancing the region while building members' leadership skills and professional networks.
Notable past members include the 38th President of the United States Gerald R. Ford.
